Winsor Primary School

Parents' Forum & PTA

At Winsor Primary School we believe that central to our success is the development of strong relationships with parents and our local community.

There are a number of ways you can be involved and have a say on important issues here at Winsor Primary School.

We know that feedback is one of the central influences on learning and achievement.

We apply this philosophy not only in our daily teaching and learning, but also in our relationships with parents and other stakeholders.  We are continually seeking parental feedback in order to help us know what we are excelling in and where we can make improvements.

Our Parent Forum comprises of the parents and carers of all our pupils; all parents and carers automatically become a member when their children join our school.

Our Parent Forum exists to foster a sense of ‘community’ amongst the parents and carers of Winsor Primary School.  The forum provides an opportunity for all parents to discuss issues which are causing concern and suggest possible solutions.  It aims to actively involve parents in the school’s decision making process and ensure that we see and hear the perspectives and opinions of the school community.

Our Parent Forum has already made positive contributions including:

  • The discussion and development of school policies
  • Communication between school and home
  • A say in the types of workshops that parents would find beneficial
  • Consultation on school uniform
  • Influence on after school clubs and breakfast club
  • The formation of our PTA

If you would like further information on our Parent Forum please speak to Mrs Guevara.

We are a small group of parents, carers and staff which fosters a strong community relationship amongst teachers and parents.

We organise a number of fundraising events throughout the year in order to raise money for our school. The PTA provides an opportunity for everyone to work together towards a common goal of enhancing the learning experiences of our children and making them even more fulfilling, exciting and fun.

Every parent/carer that has a child at Winsor Primary School is a member of the P.T.A. Some parents/carers are more actively involved than others, but all help is always greatly appreciated by the committee members.

How You Can Get Involved

There are a number of ways you can get involved in the PTA, including:

  • Helping in the organisation of social events, e.g. designing posters, running a stall, setting up or clearing up after an event
  • Helping to promote Winsor Primary School in the wider community
  • Fundraising
  • Giving parents opportunities to take part in the life of the school and contribute to activities beyond the classroom

All of our children benefit from the additional funds raised by the PTA.  This year our PTA raised enough funds to buy every pupil from Reception to Y6 a PE t-shirt in their house colours for Sports Day.

If you would like to be involved in the PTA or have any questions, please speak to Mrs Allen the PTA Chairperson.

Don’t delay, you’re involvement in the PARENTS’ FORUM and PTA can make a difference. Be the difference and join us!
