Parent Reps & PTA

PARENT Reps

At Winsor Primary School we believe that central to our success is the development of strong relationships with parents and our local community.

There are a number of ways you can be involved and have a say on important issues here at Winsor Primary School.

PARENTS’ FORUM

We know that feedback is one of the central influences on learning and achievement.

We apply this philosophy not only in our daily teaching and learning but also in our relationships with parents and other stakeholders.  We are continually seeking parental feedback in order to help us know what we are excelling in and where we can make improvements.

Since the re-establishment of our PTA, we will be bringing back Parent Reps.

The rationale behind this is to have a rep for each year group/class who can communicate important information to other families so that we can foster a sense of ‘community’ amongst the parents and carers of Winsor Primary School.  The reps would meet regularly to discuss issues causing concern and suggest possible solutions.  It aims to actively involve parents in the school’s decision-making process and ensure that we see and hear the perspectives and opinions of the school community. Anyone can become a rep, as long as they have a child at Winsor.

In the past our Parent Reps made positive contributions including:

  • The discussion and development of school policies
  • Communication between school and home
  • Consultation on school uniform
  • Influence on after-school clubs
  • The formation of our PTA

If you would like further information on becoming a Parent Rep please speak to Mrs Guevara or Mrs Allen.

WINSOR PTA

We are a small group of parents, carers, and staff that fosters a strong community relationship among teachers and parents.

We organise a number of fundraising events throughout the year in order to raise money for our school. The PTA provides an opportunity for everyone to work together towards a common goal of enhancing the learning experiences of our children and making them even more fulfilling, exciting, and fun.

Every parent/carer that has a child at Winsor Primary School is a member of the P.T.A. Some parents/carers are more actively involved than others, but all help is always greatly appreciated by the committee members.

How You Can Get Involved

There are a number of ways you can get involved in the PTA, including:

  • Helping in the organisation of social events, e.g. designing posters, running a stall, setting up or clearing up after an event
  • Helping to promote Winsor Primary School in the wider community
  • Fundraising
  • Giving parents opportunities to take part in the life of the school and contribute to activities beyond the classroom

All of our children benefit from the additional funds raised by the PTA.  In the past, they help fund 'free' P.E t shirts and water bottles in House colours for pupils and recently funded the lighting and sound system in our Main Hall.

If you want to be involved in the PTA or have any questions, please speak to Mrs Allen the PTA Chairperson.

Don’t delay, you’re involvement as a Parent Rep and the PTA can make a difference. Be the difference and join us!
