Rights Respecting School

Our school is working towards
recognition as a...

“Rights Respecting School.”

We believe that every child should have opportunities to develop their talents and skills and their rights are at the heart of our ethos and culture.

Rights Respecting School Award is given by UNICEF - the world’s leading organisation working for children, young people and their rights. In 1989, governments across the world agreed that all children have the same rights by adopting the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). These rights are based on what a child needs to survive, grow, participate and fulfil their potential.

The Award recognises a school’s achievement in putting the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child into practice within the school and beyond. By concentrating on these rights in our school , we have started the journey towards becoming a Unicef UK Rights Respecting School.

Winsor pupils learn about their rights by putting them into practice every day. They develop this knowledge during our assemblies where they also explore what the global citizenship means.
